Most environmental consulting companies can prepare air permit applications. But do they understand your business enough to structure the permit so it allows you to do business the way you want to do it, or does the permit restrict you in ways that practically ensure non-compliance? An environmental engineer might be very good at environmental engineering but may not know enough about your business. For example, you may be perfectly ok with limiting the annual operating hours for your plant to 2500 hrs/yr. But there is one piece of equipment (a heater for example) that needs to run 24/7. If that piece of equipment is not excempted from the 2500 hr/yr limitation and you run it 24/7, you will be in violation of your permit terms and liable for fines.

At CFM Environmental LLC we don't start with the permit or the regulations, we start with understanding your business. Then we determine how we can structure the permit in such a way that you can do what you have to do, the way you want to do it, and still be in compliance. Of course, sometimes there are trade-offs, or the business might have to adapt to a particular rule or regulation. But most often there are ways to satisfy both, the company and the law. Once the application is ready, we sit down with you and go over every paragraph, then repeat that again once we receive the draft permit from the Department of Health. Once you receive the permit, we meet with you and/or the employees you designate, to show you what has to be done to stay in compliance.

In addition to the preparation of permit applications CFM Environmental LLC also offers ongoing help with compliance, reports, and any other aspects relating to the air permit, allowing you to concentrate on your business instead of worrying about permit problems and compliance.

Towards that end, CFM Environmental is now in the process of developing a special software and monitoring program specifically designed for small & medium sized businesses in Hawaii, that will just about eliminate the chances of non-compliance, will generate all the required reports automatically, and will require probably less than 5 minutes of work per day.

At this time, the program is expected to be ready for implementation towards the end of 2009! If you are interested, please call Fred at (808) 779-2948 for more information.
